SoCal, 2024

In March, I journeyed down from San Francisco to Southern California to visit friends. Between winter sunset walks, dryer sheet handholding and nightcaps, I wandered through the echoes of Shakiba, Leo, Mark and Ricky’s earlier memories in Carlsbad. Then came Los Angeles, where I saw the city anew through Leo and Shakiba’s eyes. They’d recently chosen to call it home. — In witnessing the delicate dance of those I love navigating the uncertain space between what was and what’s yet to come, I found comfort in not knowing where I stood in that space myself.
