Overstayed My Welcome, 2020-2021
Overstayed My Welcome is a documentary series of diaristic landscapes, "homescapes" and portraits completed throughout the pandemic. Its photographs act as a visual memoir of the relationships, experiences, and questions that defined my life as a 20 and 21-year-old.
Through the photographic freezing of fleeting moments, this series was my effort to mindfully enjoy the presence of those I loved most while they existed in the now instead of focusing on all relationships' unavoidable endings, whether through death or eventual growing apart.
Thus, Overstayed My Welcome was an attempt at accepting and understanding the inevitability of change and the uselessness of trying to control or predict the future.
