After my grandfather passed away in 2018, my grandmother was devastated and had to learn to live life differently than how she had been experiencing it for decades. Based on the recollection of memories and reconstruction of a seemingly near past, “me redevenir du 11 avril” explores the exigent proficiency that is perpetual re-education, here a relearning to live without the person with whom you shared most of your life; a breach in time thrusting you to define yourself in a more significant way.

During the exhibition, the viewer could wear headphones and listen to my grandfather's heartbeat, recorded with my phone a couple days prior to his death on his chest. The viewer can clearly hear his pacemaker.
